REMEMBERING SOME DISSATISFACTION...

...Members have voiced with their GPs, I noticed this in today's edition of The Guardian (..yes..., we get The Guardian in Georgia, USA...): theguardian.com/commentisfr...

"...The question of GP access is not theoretical politics, to me; it makes me miserable every day. That’s because, every day, I move the words “Change GP?” from one to-do list to another, always aware that I won’t have time, don’t know how and it probably wouldn’t make any difference anyway...."

I have just read the article and it is written by Victoria Coren Mitchell who I do like. It is good that you read the Guardian in Georgia USA. There is a lot of dissatisfaction with GP's, the NHS etc. and leading up to election time things are set to get a whole lot worse probably.

Well...., not living there I really can't say what the Brit version of health care is like but here in the States, I'm a vet and regardless of what you may've heard about our problems with the VA hospitals here, I have no complaints. I'm 72..., an old duffer, and am well aware it's not going to be as long as it has been. So, while I appreciate their attention when I need it (abdominal aneurysm and bilateral hernia at no cost) I really feel the need to yield to these younger guys coming back from that sandbox of camel dung.

Also, I have a private bit of insurance that's set up just for oldsters like me called a Senior Advantage policy. It has taken care of my hospital and oxygen therapy bills quite nicely and I'm grateful. Hospital alone was over $100,000. I'm on SS payments which is like an old age pension so I never would've been able to pay that.

All in all, I have no complaints..., except for a bit of nit-picking here and there.
