Wet windy and dog tired.

The weather is not very nice this morning and Bella the chocolate lab was finding it hard to settle but I hope she does in the end as she is to big to ignore and her bark in like a ships fog horn.

This weather reminds me of a trip to Bournemouth, I had not booked so knocked on the door of a bed & breakfast house and a woman stuck her head out the window and shouted "What do you want", I said "I want to stay here". She said "Well stay there" and shut the window.

The reason I went to Bournemouth was because the Doctor said it was good for 'flu. And he was right I got it after the first day there.

This one is for you of the right age.

I bought some HP sauce the other day. It's costing me 6p a month for the next 2 years.

Right Keep smiling and and those without a boiler keep warm.

xxxFred :) ;)

Good morning Fred happy red nose day!

Thanks for the jokes and the morning giggle.

Now I want you go carefully today it is Friday 13th after all.

Is it down to your daughter's again today?

I am starting my day with gusto going to get some jobs done inside the house.

I managed to replace the rivets with new bolts on the garage door the other day it was a job I had been putting off for so long but brings with is a sense of achievement and relief that it is done so I am hoping to finish my day with that same feeling today.

Take care Fred

Morning my special kracker, I often wondered why its suppose to be bad that the 13th falls on a Friday, if I had to pick a day it would have been Monday when the weekend had finished and it was back to work day. A good frog done (rivit rivit) sorry could not resist that. Hope the tum is on the mend after the cornbeef, and agree with the song Every day above day is a bonus and may we all have many more bonus's . As for Kate's its all over to the workforce now nothing I can do other than help her and Hannah when needed and assure them it will work out for the better in the end.

Stay safe my love and don't go to made with the jobs, with the bonus there is always tomorrow. Love Fred xxx :)

Hi fred, I will really have explain the HP joke to Michael! Bella will settle that I'm sure of, if not buy her some fillet steak for her dinner 😄 🐶 stay warm and dry, it's very overcast here in Sydney. Love LeeLee. 🐨

in reply toSokrackers

Hi sokrackers, no it isn't, I never look at it,my dad played for mitcham and Surrey many moons ago, he taught me how to bowl etc it wasn't for me, hubby loves it. How's your appetite today? Love LeeLee. Ps fred is a joy isn't he. 😄

Hi Leeleebird

Personally I prefer watching the rugby - so shapely???

I so love hearing from Fred in the morning, he always brings a smile or two. What a good dad he is too looking after his daughters the way he does. I would love to be a fly on the wall as he looks after Bella - I can just imagine him chatting away to her - ow I'm giggling to myself as I imagine it.

My appetite naw don't mention it - I looked forward to 'corned beef & potatoes' last night but then was doubled over in pain which lasted most of the night. I have hospital apt. next Friday so just managing until then. I'm having an 'oh so not fair' feeling. Just done the school run and heard a song on the radio 'everyday spent above ground is a bonus' I think I should keep reminding myself that and put my best foot forward.

I have already made my job list for today and have the initial determination to get through it - I wonder how my day will pan out. Its blooming cold, wet and blustery her in the NE so if i keep busy I will keep warm - thats the plan for today.

Do you have any plans?

in reply toSokrackers

Hi. You'll get theremy dear, I'm sure. Omg just thinking of smiley with Bella, well is priceless! My day is finished, but I spent it with my sister which very nice. Stay warm there, LeeLee. 🐨

I have traveled all over with the navy but never made it to you down there, but would have loved to, are you a local or an import ? What ever I love speaking with you both. xxx Fred :)

in reply toholly17

Good morning Fred, sorry for late reply, it's Saturday morning here, sunny and much cooler. Yay. I,m an import. Michael is a local boy. My parents moved here for a short while due to the fact dad had work in Brisbane, he was a stonemason,. The cathedral needed a good clean. Anyway I could go on and on. Oh every evening Michael asks any good Fred jokes? You're an international star! 🎉. LeeLee x

Morning Fred! If Bella is anything like the Labs I've had, food is definitely the way to their hearts 😊. Have a good day and take care.

We have a 4 year old black lab Jan...she thinks the whole world revolves around food. lol

in reply toJolyn

We've had both Labs and Goldens - all with the same naughty habits! I'm sure they all left notes for the next ones saying "you're on to a good thing here" 😄 Still miss not having a dog now - I walk my neighbours old chocolate lab sometimes cos I get withdrawal symptoms!! Jan x

Jolyn in reply to

I bet you DO miss them Jan. Our Lab belongs to my son, I borrow her for a few hours now and then. I don't think I could have my own though. She follows me everywhere. I love her to bits, but I can't stand being followed all over the house. lol Bless her, she's sooooooo pretty, I'm not sure if this link will work but here's a photo of her.

in reply toJolyn

Oh Lynn, what a beautiful face - and those eyes!! You're so fortunate to be able to "borrow" her sometimes ☺️ My husband is too poorly for us to have another dog but being able to have one occasionally is ideal. I belong to Dogs Trust and they are just setting up a scheme to be able to borrow a dog - I think I shall be first in the queue. lol

Hi Fred

Hope you are not overdoing it, take care of yourself. We are full of aches and pains and every little job inside or out seems like a major task. thinking of all those bad weather days through the winter when you think it will be great to get outside and tidy up a bit , now the weather is ok and we are not able to do much.

Certainly remember the days of hire purchase, I dont think we ever resorted to it though. If you wanted something you waited til you could afford it then.

Mothering Sunday this weekend, I prefer the old name, not the American Mothers Day. always used to make sure I got a card for my mum that said Mothering Sunday.

Have an invitation to lunch again, we are doing well,

Love Iris x

Good morning Iris

I've just come back from the school run and it is so cold, wet and blustery. I for one am getting jobs done inside the house today. We had rain overnight so that will give my newly planted fruit trees a boost.

Keep warm

holly17 profile image
holly17 in reply toLyd12

Iris its a mad house and it is getting worse as both Kate and Hannah work in Exeter so it made sense that they were booked into a hotel there, and I would act as the go between, well its only for a couple of weeks or so. I agree we always waited till we had the money. Enjoy Mothering Sunday. xxx Fred :)

holly17 profile image
holly17 in reply toJolyn

What a day the problem now adays is the fact the y are nearly all computerized, a light had come on that should not be there but it was soon sorted. The thing is Kate can only drive sort distances as she suffers with Mitochondrial Disease so she knows she will end up in a wheel chair so this is just another kick in the teeth, but that's life as you well know love. Right home now and time for a bite to eat for all as that includes Bella as well. Speak later I hope xxxFred :) ;)

Good morning Jolyn

I recently took out boiler cover which is a first for me but it came in handy when a small leak sprung. As I mentioned I had COPD I got immediate service which I obviously appreciated.

Have you taken advantage of the governments funds for energy efficiency measures in the home - apparently not all are means tested.

This was the link I read about it - it may or may not help but I certainly found it interesting.

I was reading that a few days ago SK. I always have an email from money supermarket, they have some really good deals. Thank's for sending me the link. Hopefully I'll be basking in warmth later. For now I'm cwtched up to my hot water bottle and a fan heater...but it's not the same is it.

Me too I love Martin Lewis and have saved £££££s over the time I have been with him. Oh about 3 or 4 months ago I got about 120 free pizzas! I was very popular with friends and neighbours. I got a free £190 sonic toothbrush and many other smaller things for free. Every year I check my utility supplier and have saved £££s on moving to a water meter from £43 per month to £17! So work that out over 5 years some saving eh?

Have you got a good book to read?

Jolyn profile image
Jolyn in reply toSokrackers

120 pizzas...wow...lol. Yes, he's amazing and very popular and it's good to have someone on OUR side. I'm on a water meter too, it makes such a difference.

Yes, I've got books but I'm too fidgety to read. lol

I liked teh bournemouth trip! I went there to the bournemout International Centre for a Christian week. I waled quite a bit, even though I had my lung problem. But the bed and breakfast wasn't exactly near the centre, We wlked my wife and I with others. so we tried to stick together, as you do when you are in a group!

Today it's been freezing, only gone to church to sing in the choir. I'ts only 500 yeards away. I was glad to get a lift back!!!

Cheers, Mic
