Eastenders, for the most ridiculous episode in their 30 year history!

They start by redoing the very opening scene of 30 years ago to the night - "Stinks in 'ere don't it" said Stacy, exactly the same even to the opening words in 1985!

Then we have Ian's umpteenth wedding which was obviously doomed from the start. Then he discovers that his "wife" of a few hours, killed his slapper, junkie Daughter - no surprises there then after nearly a year!

Kim gives birth 2 months early in the pub loo's ( as you do!)

Mick has near killed his own Brother.

Dot confesses to killing her son - although she didn't exactly do it, and just to add to all that - they bring back Kathy, who "died" in an accident years ago!

How desperate can you get to have to keep bringing back all these old characters?

Think I'll dig out some old Disney films - they'll be more realistic! lol

Forget Lucy beale where's little Denny? Not been seen since last September. I blame the parents! LOL

Lol. I agree Sokrackers, and who was looking after all the other kids tonight, seeing as everyone was out and about? Must have been the silent barmaid Tracy, she was about the only one not in this episode!

O2Trees in reply toNikkers

She got a massive cheer on the Graham Norton EE show though. Maybe just because she's spent so many years NOT speaking :D

So who killed Lucy then? x

Nikkers in reply to

Well, the first part gave the impression that it was Jane - that's what I and everyone else thought before the extra programme at 9.30! But now it seems that it was Bobby? Which is pretty stupid unless he's just short for his age? lol

Agree 100%. Can't believe after all that buildup, that her little brother was the killer. I'm ashamed to admit that I was really looking forward to the big finale tonight but the first hour was a complete waste of time for all the readons you mentioned.

I'm with you Argana. What a let down. It'll be interesting to know how he did it - maybe he bit her ankles and she fell over and hit her head on the table? Better still, he probably just gave her some of Ian's cooking - that would do it!? lol

I agree, what a load of rubbish, they all seemed to be over acting and staring at the camera.

I've never watched Eastenders, I'm a Corrie and Emmerdale fan though. :-)

Me too Jolyn! I love Emmerdale and can't wait for "Robert" to get his comeuppance! I would also like to see "Sam get back with "Rachel".

Me too....we should be writing the scripts together...lol. They let the storylines drag on to the point of exhaustion sometimes don't they. lol

Nikkers profile image
Nikkers in reply toSoftwabbit

It was Kirstin - I think that's how you spell it, not that anyone cares! lol

Its all abit of a giggle.......None of the. 'big scenes '. are true to life

Whether its Police.....medical....social.....marriage ..even the bed hopping is a bit OTT.

I suppose Dot Cotton getting drugs for her son was possible, but only just....... Now Bobby has killed. Lucy...... How did Jane move the body and, as far as she did on her own.....she had help. !!!!!!

Best laugh so far of this year.

Yeah I gave up watching Eastenders years ago. I only watch Corrie now. x

I know its rubbish but im a die-hard fan - agree it was a big anti-climax and the "live" bits didn't work at all - deadest acting I've seen for a long time. Did nobody notice that in those live parts the camera angles were all wrong - they kept cutting people off so e.g. you'd just see the nose of someone who was speaking? Amazed they couldn't do that better.

Used to live along the road from Fassett Square in Dalston, which they modelled Albert Square on.

Nikkers profile image
Nikkers

Did you also notice that when "Jane " came in, she called "Ian" - Adam!? Whoops. lol

butter-fly profile image
butter-fly

All those looks! All that staring into mid distance as if very thoughtful.

And too many plots at once when Eastenders usually can carry one plot on for many months until we are all sick of it.

Was expecting Dirty Den to appear at any point too!

Disappointing!

Nikkers profile image
Nikkers in reply tobutter-fly

You're right Butter-fly, why not bring back all the "deadn's", that should make it a bit more interesting.

I knew it was Bobby, he is actually 11. The clues were there all along, but nobody thought a child could kill so ignored them. Children can and sadly sometimes do kill. Remember James Bulger? It will be interesting to find out why Kathy came back, and why she needs Phil's permission to stay in walford - not that I'm a fan....LOL.

BTW, Bobby hit Lucy over the head with her music box, and it wasn't Jane who called Ian Adam, it was Tanya. Bit pedantic I know, but hey I have a sad life. ;-)

Nikkers profile image
Nikkers in reply to

Sorry PG, my mistake! How did Bobby hit her over the head - standing on a chair! What sort of "mother" would ignore a troubled child like "Ben" all these years and let him think she was dead. No, EE is definitely not one of the better soaps and I'll be happy to miss it.

Hahaha - ok I'll check you out in a few months Nikkers :D

Personally i think they're all rubbish, but there's only time for one and EE is the rubbish soap i have a sentimental attachment for.

Loathe Emmerdale - Im probably in the minority there :)

Dragonmum profile image

Used to watch Corrie back in the day, I exited when Pat Phoenix did. Tried watching EE once or twice but have had enough "dotty" old women and psyche jobs among friends and family to keep me going for a life-time. My reservation about that particular soap is that generations may have grown up thinking that their idiotic situations and reactions are some kind of "norm".

I hate all the "foody" type programmes Jimmy, so with you on that one. I think one of the most irritating voices must be the one that belongs to the guy that says when "Big Brother" is going to be on!? It's like fingernails down a blackboard! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Lol

hi nikky, had a shiver down my spine just reading that :D

aye there's far too many foody type progs on the telly,, half the time its done by a celebrity,, probably never cooked in their life lol :D anyway i cooked a dinner myself today [big deal :D ] but it was lovely, a stew with plenty of different veg [it was a break from these wiltshire farm foods, i see wee Ronnie Corbett advertising ,,, I think the meals are made for folks that size :D :D [i shouldn't say that :D ] i don't know what i put in it,:) but slept for hours after it :D :D unlike me,, anyway, all the very best niky,, kindest thoughts , love jimmy xxx :)

Nikkers in reply tojimmyw123

You and I should get together Jimmy, I get fed up with cooking for 1. I'm pleased that you made yourself a hearty stew, you need something like that especially where you live to keep out the cold.

Bit of a funny story - A few years ago I worked weekends in our local petrol station. One Sunday afternoon it was quiet and I was reading a magazine when I heard this voice saying "Excuse me, excuse me" and I couldn't see anyone immediately. I then realised that it was coming from a very small man whose head barely reached the counter - Ronnie Corbett! He had been appearing at the local theatre for a few weeks , was on his way home to his family and came in to buy a road map. he was very nice and we chatted for a bit then he went and got into a BIG car (can't remember what make it was) and drove off. I could hardly see him behind the wheel. We get lots of celebrities around here because of the theatre, so it wasn't so much of a surprise to see him, just that he is so small face to face!

Have a wee dram Jimmy. Love. Nikki XX

jimmyw123 profile image
jimmyw123 in reply toNikkers

aye nik :D you'd be welcome to make the stew :D its been cold today here, but the old stew helped :D

imagine that with ronnie corbett, [did you have your glasses on :D :D ] och thats a bit cruel :D he actually comes from edinburgh, in fact not too far from me,,just shows you though :)

my claim to fame was,, i spoke to john lennon :D many years ago, when the beetles were just beginning to become famous, he was in the carriage of the train i was working on in the dining cars [my job was,, pantry boy :D true !!] i gave him coffee, and all his minders [or whoever they were ] the usual tip was the old threepence,, i just about collapsed when he gave me half a crown, 2/6d , my wages were just over £3 ,, wish i had got a photo of him and signed!!,, been worth a fortune now,, so there you have it niky,, my pal john :D :D

all the very best niky,, off to kip now

love jimmy xxx :)

What's this got to do with lung disease?. Facebook may be a more appropriate forum

Nikkers profile image
Nikkers in reply towarwickstag

WE talk about all sorts of things on here Warwickstag - not just lung disease! It's just a nice friendly site , bit like an extended family - especially for those of us that don't like media sites like awful Facebook! Don't be a mis, join in!

warwickstag profile image
warwickstag in reply toNikkers

You clearly don't understand how trivial posts like this are turning this site into a media site like Facebook. It is precisely why my wife happily uses F***book to socialise, share her photos and paintings with like-minded friends, both real and imaginary and I choose to come on here to learn about and better understand my debilitating lung condition. If that makes me a bit of a "mis" then I'm guilty as charged. I enjoy the humour and have made some long standing friends on this site, one of whom, Gordon57 was a stalwart on here long before you joined, and was an absolute fountain of lung disease related knowledge, but eventually left for much the same reasons. This site goes through phases, and IMHO it is currently being disrupted in its primary function.

I don't know what health problems you have to endure as your profile is empty but if you feel your views on Eastenders are helping others, then carry on by all means. I may not agree with what you say, but I would defend your right to say it.

Just don't expect me to stay around and waste my valuable shrinking time on looking at it. Life's too short, but I hope you have a long and happy one.

Pax vobiscum.

Nikkers profile image
Nikkers in reply towarwickstag

I clearly understand this site I can assure you, but much prefer it to any social media sites because it's screened! There has been a lot of harm and misery caused through some of the media sites and nothing is ever done about it. Anyone on here who says or does something offensive is quickly removed - that's how it should be.

I don't go on about my lung condition because I've learned to manage and live with it after 73 years, but I still like to read what others do and feel about their own conditions.

I'm sorry if you don't agree with my writings, but let's face it - you don't have to read them!

Omne ignotum pro magnifico est.

Most impressive, but my rudimentary grade 5 "O" level Latin doesn't run to a translation. I did resort to Google but their offering of "we have great notions of everything unknown" didn't offer any sense of what you are saying in your reply, particularly in relation to Eastenders so would you mind spelling it out for a mere simple man please?

sometimes warwickstag , i know myself at least,, i must get my mind off ,, "not being able to breath" i'm on end stage copd with many other underlying illness,,,, if i couldn't laugh at times,, i would cry,, i mean this with the best of respect, and realize what your saying,, but really why read the thread if you dont want too ?,, its only a little fun, im just an oap, i haven't a clue about face page or face book or any of these evil things,, the woman are just having a natter, so i just join in, sometimes get a laugh :D even at their expense :D they like a titter :D so do i,,,, but i do see your point warwick,, at least youve been the only one man enough to express your view,, just join in warwick,, take the mickey out of them :),, and get your mind off , your problems,,,,all the very best warwick, sincerely meant jimmy

Jimmy my friend, you sage old bugger. I really don't know how you manage to maintain your glass half full attitude to life with all your problems. Been having a bit of a rough time myself, and feeling a bit emotional. Could do with a night down the pub with some real mates and put the world to rights over a few jars. Don't get me wrong, I love women to bits but when they gang up together, it's a stupid man who tries to win an argument with 'em. Just not happy with the way this site is going, I don't want to quit and give in but am really struggling. At the moment I feel my time might be better spent on other things.

Keep as well as you can my friend.

jimmyw123 profile image
jimmyw123 in reply towarwickstag

hi warickstag, , i think i'm much the same as you, Sometimes , especially the last few weeks i've been blowing hot and cold, , it does make me emotional, and often makes me feel like loosing the plot,, [think i've already lost the plot lol :) ] , but to be serious, i think its the nature of the illness, and in my case anyway, i think the steroids alter your self being. i know i have not been myself of late, [i blame the steroids,, well ive got to blame something :)

i suppose what i'm trying to say is, i understand you completely, and if i am completely honest, i agree with you about the site, i thought it was just me :) but i suppose we just have to accept things, i think when were reasonably well, were different folks completely,we think differently, im sure many will understand that.

like you, the last few weeks have been particularly rough, one of these periods where nowt goes right, but what can you do except battle on and dream of better times ,[that big fish :) ] your a good lad warickstag, ive no doubt about that, i just wish i could go to the pub with you, have a real ding dong lol :) unfortunately cant even drink, cant smoke, cant go dancing :) cant bl,,dy do nowt ??, i think they're trying to make me into a robot, :) but just like me, hang in there, there's better times to come, , we've just got to think like that,, aye its hard warwick, dam right it is,, but we'll be there,:) you with that big fish :) ,, and me eating it lol :) i don't know if all this makes sense, but in a nutshell, when were a bit rough, were not quite ourselves, i know i'm not anyway.

as far as tackling the woman :D i'm not that brave :D or that stupid lol :D but they can be a great help at times, i can vouch for that. they can take joke as well as give a joke,

but again on the serious side, there's very many valuable ones on this site who have helped me so much , when i've been down, i couldnt thank them enough.

you stick in warwick, your not alone, in feeling like that, as old scottish harry lauder used to sing "keep right on to the end of the road, though the way be long let your heart be strong" i nearly burst into song there :D , all the very best my friend,

jimmy, [hope thing improve for you ]
