Can I ask I was reading through the posts and found some with a grey circle and hidden for the name can anyone tell me why please.

I'm not sure but I think the hidden ones are from members who have left. I hope someone posts to verify if this is right or wrong.

If the post is ' hidden ' is there a locked padlock at end of title .

This means the post can only be totally read and answered to by a site member.

When you write a post you have the option to choose who can read and reply to the post.

By ticking the box ' everyone, means it can viewed by members and non members alike, they can also post the post on Facebook or Twitter without your knowledge or permission.

If you tick the box ' community " it can only be totally read and answered to by members.

This is what shows when a post is " hidden"

"The author has hidden this post. You need to log in or sign up to read and reply"

If the post is " hidden" without a padlock indicates a member as removed their profile, or as left.

I think Puff is right - the grey figure icon is for people who have deleted their accounts (or been chucked off - happens very occasionally). The padlock is as Stone says above.
