Love it Tony we get hoards of these flying over us at night time creeps in
That must be amazing to see, get your camcorder out and post it. Geese are fantastic to see flying in formation.
sadly I only am awake for the flight in on sunset which can be dark some days for filming I just love the way they fly in perfect 'V' formation and you can get at least 3 or 4 all joining in as they each join the main formation it is fantastic how they do it no bumps or bangs just a graceful maneuver I only wish they could be quiet about it lol.
Once we had a flock of Canada Geese spend a few days on the river bank, we were then living by. One day all the geese flew of, except one male goose who followed me everywhere! That was quite sweet until my DH came home from a trip and my new admirer tried to fight him off, he wasn't allowed anywhere near me! It came to a stand off and DH won! LOL
They are pretty though.
They make wkd guard dogs/ geese, I'll stick with turkey for my Xmas dinner though , X sonia x
My Dad used to keep Geese when I was a boy and your right those Ganders were something to avoid. They used to lower their heads to the ground and come at you hissing like snakes. xx
Hi dall , Would give a stranger a bloomin fright lol i wouldn't challenge one. X Sonia x
Looking at them you wouldn't believe they were that aggressive would you, how wrong you can be. You have to be very careful around them, especially when they had Goslings. They certainly had me running at times xx
She is definitely trying to blend in Tony but no chance with such beautiful white swans there. Another triumph with your photography and what a nice picture for me to see first thing in the morning. Take care. xxxx
lovely they look like a ceremonial flotilla in the video - think there might be a few million poor turkeys that would wish they could hide too..... thank you xx
Beautiful birds always feel relaxed when I see them on our lake
