Hi Tiasam ,

Really don't know anything on this one . I had an x-ray at time of spirometry on initial diagnosis and think that this is fairly common . However there wasn't any follow up with blood tests . Could you get to speak to your copd nurse who did your spirometry . I would feel quite frustrated at being kept in the dark .

It may turn out to be just routine but they could tell you .

Cheers Coastal .

Go back to see her on 18/8. Hopefully she should have results by then. All this is new to me. Trouble is when I go back she asks am I better, do I feel any different, but I just feel normal with or without meds now infection gone. now weigh half a stone heavier after steroids and not smoking but hey ho can't have everything lol

I gained over a stone between Nov and May ......have now managed to halt the increase and lose 4 lbs.......not brilliant but what the hek !......at least its going in right direction as was a bit concerned about putting on another stone and that affecting breathing .

Someone once posted on here that lung damage from smoking can't be repaired but excess weight can be lost . I'm still just within the healthy weight range so may have to accept present poundage . ( Will have to buy some new clothes though )

Hi! If one of your symptoms is shortness of breath, they may want to check for anaemia as well because iron-deficiency anaemia can cause breathlessness too.

Thank you Elja but only been breatheless when I have chest infection. I am sure I will be informed when they know. Mind you having said that I had to ask about X-ray results.

Hi Tiasam, I recently complained about feeling tired all of the time and low energy, the Doc had the nurse check 'bloods' and I was low on iron so put on Ferrous Fumarate (iron tabs) to counteract any signs of anaemia.
