All other web fora to which I subscribe actively discourage lengthy copy+pastes.

Better to make a link if you can

Sorry about this technology is wasted on me but I will try and get a link and post it. For those who have not read this it is about Atos and the DWP reporting people claiming PIP & ESA for fraud just another card they are using I think its time we all started to vote with our feet

That's right Onamission, and as for the suggestion everyone on certain benefits should have mental health assessments contravenes peoples human rights as well as being discriminatory. Everyone should challenge these indignities, including at the polling stations. Write to your local MPs , start up surveys for votes of those who back you. I am still a member of benefits & works although I am retired because these regulations effect the younger members of my family, and this is a good way to get benefit news updates.

Where are these people with mental illnesses work and how will they cope people who are fit and young kids leaving school can't get jobs.

I don't know what it is like to have a mental illness apart from the time we all come down with yet another chest infection and our illness can bring on depression.

I have contacted my MP he is labour it was his party who set up Atos and gave them cart blanche to do what they wanted and a very long contract however Camron is as much to blame both parties have not given this a lot of thought when this was set up to get people off benefits only 1% of people claiming benefits were fraud claims.

How much have they saved ? and how much has this cost to put in place ? think its time we had the mere cats in at no 10 simples

I think it is 30% lower than that it is 0.7% and most of the DWP budget goes on pensions. the disabled are just an easy target and there to fog other issues

They will stoop to any lengths I would like to get Brown and Camron to spend a day in our shoes I think it is time they did something but they wont and when you watch the programmes on the tv about all the people claiming benefits who could work it makes me want to spit

This situation 'flibberti' refers to, reporting your neighbours to the government, rings a bell. Isn't that what Hitler encouraged the people to do?

fibbert,

Thanks for grammar compliment.

More than I can say for 'auto spellchecker' on here - kept wanting to 'correct' it to ' for a' !

I think we should all write a letter to Camron demanding that people with lung conditions should be awarded ESA & DLA automatically if you type in COPD on the DWP web site it states award indefinitely. I think the way we have been treated by Atos is disgusting and now is the ideal time as we are leading up to a general election.

I would also like to do a FOI asking how much has Atos been paid, how much have they saved the government and I think the first sum will be much bigger than the second.
