Thank you. My problem is that if I close all my windows it's unbearably hot and I wish my neighbours would warn me of when they are about to light a BBQ at this time of year and a bonfire in Autumn.

Anybody can say why not or what is wrong with helpful ideas. The issue is you suffer with the air pollutants so you are the one that needs to make changes.

My house is equipped with an air exchanger with a good filtering system. it will either filter and recycle in house air or bring it in and exhaust it from the outside. I live in a heavily forested area so various pollens and bush dust can be problematic. When the humidity is high the exchanger will also read and extract the excess moisture, making breathing easier especially when hot and humid. I also have an air conditioner on wheels which cools the house and extracts excess moisture. ODSP paid for this, their max is $600. I opted for the wheeled version as I don't have to concern myself with winterizing the window type or removing it and reinstalling.each year. If my lungs are irritated I will sit in front of the ac and deeply inhale the cold air for a few minutes which helps.
