I am moving house and while I was talking to the supplier she asked if there was anyone in the household with a disability. I explained my conditions and she put me on their at risk register which means I will get help and advise if there is any planned or unplanned outages. At my new house.
Are you an "At Risk": I am moving... - Lung Conditions C...
Are you an "At Risk"
Not heard of that one but it makes sense really. Good luck to you in your new home and hope the move goes well. xxx
HI offcut,
Good luck in your move and wishing you lots of happiness in your new home.
Forgive my ignorance, and exhaustion(can't think straight), but what are outages? Are you moving into special accommodation or something? All the best, and I hope the moves goes smoothly. Lots of hugs xxx
Hi
"Outages" relates to a loss of services power/ water/gas .planned or unplanned
A person noted as being at risk will receive priority service.
Hi Stone,
Thanks for that. That is very interesting to know. You may know that I have epilepsy, and your answer has just popped a light bulb off in my head. Years ago, I told BT about it, because I live alone and am vulnerable. They put notes on my account that if there was a fault then I would have priority. This is something I will look into, so thanks a lot for that Stone. Good luck, hugs xx
We did this recently during a routine renewal of our electricity plan, they explained that they would work harder to get our electricity on first, darn good idea as we get quite a lot of 'cuts' here
That's interesting. I am also moving house soon but nobody asked me that question.
I live in Ireland and was given a form to send to the electricity company when I first had my nebuliser...then when I had oxygen...they apparently make you a priority if there is a cut in the supply for any reason...
I'm glad you've got people around you who really care. That's a good start for your moving home. I hope you've got help to make your move.
When I moved, I went to see the house first and made a little plan to know where the furniture should go. I measured the floors to know about carpets and where our furniture should be placed. I'm glad I did this, because there was one cupboard which wouldn't fit in the bedroom, but did in our lounge! My sister-in-law found it bizarre that that cupboard should be in the lounge, but we were quite happy to have found a place for it!
Hope your move goes well.
Hi Offcut do you mean if they have to turn of the supplies in your road I phoned British gas told them I had COPD asked if we could get some winter payment they said no I didn't claim benefits but they would make a note and said if the gas had to be turned off they would get it back asap. Good luck with your move
