( that showed on an old x ray taken four years earlier, but I was not told at the time) it is called a linear atelectasis does anyone have this condition or know about it?
Hi all back again still waiting to se... - Lung Conditions C...
Hi all back again still waiting to see consultant on the 12th, but told by GP yesterday that I have a partial collapsed left lung
Sorry never heard of it. Best bet is to ring the BLF helpline (number under the red balloon at the top). They have trained nurses there who can advise you. They will be open again 10 am tomorrow. x
Sorry like coughalot I have never heard of it. Take their advise ring BLF and have a talk I'm sure they have. Good luck for the 12th.
Thanks twice shy but I won't look at web sites as they scare the life out of me, prefer to hear from people who are living with it, but thank you for your input x
its ok, good luck,xxx
Just came across this, sorry: I had a plate atelectasis on an xray a few years ago, too. My understanding is a plate may also be linear as it looks from the front as a line across the lung, but if seen from above mine would shape like a CD (small plate, they didn't have CDs I suspect when this was first seen, lol). I was told it was nothing of concern.. although I have a theory that it affects me from time to time, when I eat gassy foods - theory - gas blows up you stomach - it puts pressure on your diaphragm and so on your left lung - left lung partially collapses at a weak spot.
GP says 'baloney'... I say he doesn't have it.
