just been in hospital chest infection but doctor said it is phomonia .the next doctor said that is what a chest infection is.

Hi I have had chest infections numerous times but never pneumonia. I presume this is an extreme chest infection. Why don't you ring BLF, number under the red balloon, on Monday (open at 10am) and I am sure they will clarify it for you. x

Hi artpats.. first of all you knew if its phymoia.. I was in hosptail 8 days..in both lungs..coughing up red blood..temp sky high.took 3 doctors..4 the sent me straight hosptail..my eyes were in back my head..had to take 2 different lots antibiotics for 3 weeks..even now get sore lung..soon has had a x ray they sore it...if you have..be care full..the head nurses said that to me should been in hosptail week before...great doctors that knew what's wrong eh xxxxhope you OK x

Louise, thank you for the definition. I googled the term, but nothing came up! I had never come across this term before. arpats, when you feel a bit better, you could ask an explanation to your consultant. It would be good to know for you what the implications are.

Im still recovering from what always for me starts as chest infection then goes down to my left lung 1st one was 20 yrs ago then managed to keep well until 5 yrs ago started again chest then lung this one has been worse and five months housebound antibiotics steroids pain killers but getting back to normal all being slowly. Exhaustion and pain is the hardest to deal with . Keep well x
