When resting my sats are normally 94-97% slight exercise, a gentle walk, or even going up stairs can reduce them to 88-92% generally, although my past fitness levels enables me to recover back to the normal levels (for me) within a couple of ...

Hi

88/92 is considered acceptable at rest.

Below 88 and you may be looking at long term oxygen theraphy .

For excercise they like 90/92 as an acceptable level, below this and you may be looking at Ambultory oxygen.

Mine dropped to 85 when moving, I am on 2lpm just for moving around and excercise.

Your respiratory nurse should be able to a simple test to put your mind at

rest.

It is not just the low level but the time it takes to recover to your normal , which may be different than others.

Cheers for that Stone I have noticed my 'Normal' levels are slowly reducing, and half my problem because I have asbestosis as well as emphysema, is that I have reduced transfer of oxygen into my body !! so when I do get breathless it takes that bit longer to recover ! The BLF nurse said i am borderline needing ambulatory oxygen, but my query was raised by a comment in a correspondence from my consultant about de-saturation levels - Thank, Plumbob
