Thanks for your feedback
Do people on hear use a nebuliser after they are advised by the GP and why do you have to buy them, I'm having real difficulty using my inhalers and need a spacer so would I be better off using a nebuliser
Hi Onsmission, I use a nebuliser. My GP agreed to prescribe the medication to go in it, after Chest Hospital had refused me one, but gave me a spacer, which didn't have too much effect. However, it would seem they are no longer supplied by the Chest Clinics/hospitals, as their excuse is they want patients into hospital to be monitored properly. Personally, I think this is a load of tosh and it is the result of many (short sighted) cut-backs in the NHS. My son bought my nebuliser (about £100 at the time) and as I said, my GP is more than willing to supply the medication.
If you ask your GP, I'm sure he would prescribe a spacer. If you don't find it all that helpful, then ask him if he would prescribe the necessary meds to go into a nebuliser if you bought one.
Regards, Val.
