I think when you have had an infection it does take time to get back on your feet ...sleep when you feel tired its the bodies way of re-charging your batteries, it will do you good. I don't think its anything to do with the steroids
Glad the meds worked and hope you feel less tired soon
Hi, I agree with Sohara. It can take weeks to get your energy levels up after an infection. I stopped antiBs a week ago and I'm still having to pace myself. Very low energy, in fact, really I still feel a bit ill. I won't take steroids though so it's not those!
Take it easy and take your time. Personally speaking at this time I've learnt to be extremely careful as it's at this vulnerable stage that I can either succumb to the dregs of the last infection or grow a new one. Baby steps.
I can't Squady, they make me feel desperately ill with massive heart thumps, scary. I told a doc and she said not to worry as I'm on 2 x Seretide 500 daily plus several blue puffs and there's enough steroid in those.
Mind you, having said that, I feel crap at the moment and wondering if just one 5mg tablet would help.
I learnt at PR that there are two types of exacerbation, the infection type and the non-infection type (how to tell the difference is another matter)!!
I'm with squady, you NEED the steroids to clear infections & although you take Seretide 500, it's the wrong type of steroid.
I find the anti-biotics that unsettle me more that the steroids .... you could try asking for a different one - there are loads of different ones.
You could also try having a little tub of natural live yogurt every day .... anti-biotics kill all the good/natural bacteria in our guts .... natural live yogurts replace them. I drink a little thingy of Actimel every day.
Thank you, I eat a pot and a half of plain live yogurt every day without fail plus take a capsule of probiotic to improve my system daily.
I don't buy Actimel, I get capsules, much more economic for me.
Even though I'm getting over infections (nasal and lungs) I'm so pleased, this is my best winter for years. xx
