Good morning I just joined up a week ago, and I cannot emphasise enough how much difference it is has made. I now feel there is loads of kind, caring support out there rather than just going to the Health centre and being dished out meds with no real advice or support. Due to feeling rather 'ashamed' having smoked for many years (I gave up 5 years ago after a 'wake up' call when I was rushed into hospital unable to breathe) I now have about £40/50 a week to save for holidays. Christmas etc. None of my family or friends have smoked, so due to their attitudes, I have never felt able to discuss my copd with them - It might just be me who feels this way and of course smoking is as bad for you as it can be, but I would hope that I would never make anyone feel bad because they are obese, drink far too much or do other things that affect their health.

Hi welcome to a very friendly site I also have COPD which I have been given to understand covers nearly all lung problems emphysema bronchitis etc!! Like you I have been diagnosed 8 years ago never had to have oxygen and can swim & ride a bike but

Alas I do have a chesty cough which when is gets bad I take steroids and amoxicillin for a week British Lung Foundation is also excellent for help & info.
