I opened the curtain this morning, looked to the left and saw a bank of lovely yellow crocus, Spring is on the way.
But then I looked to the right and once again was horrified at the scene, the front garden contains a mattress with rolls of carpets on top of it and lots of plastic wrapping, it has been there 5 weeks now. I have phoned the council and they cannot do anything about it as long as it is on not their property.
I think a note through the door is in order. I don't want it to appear nasty so is there anyone out there who would write me a humerous poem (I am rubbish, I tried) that might encourage them to get it moved.

"If the rubbish is on private land, or if you do not know who owns the land, you can report it to us at Environmental Services. We will find out who the land owner is and take action to deal with the problem. If the Council is the owner, we will make sure that the rubbish is quickly removed. If the land is privately owned we will contact the owners and take legal steps to get the rubbish removed, although this may take a little longer."
Poems good but do you know who your neighbours are - just thinking if they are elderly or as us in ill health it may not have been moved because they are incapable on their own of moving it so some offer of help from yourself (or if you are not up to it maybe some friends) may be a better way forward than assuming that they are just being untidy etc. - just a thought - whatever hope you get it sorted.
Your not wrong undine I've made the assumption that polly knows her neighbours and who she is dealing with .Assumption being the mother of all cockups,do hope not on this occasion . Janexx
