Hi new by I have had the same problem on and off for a number of years, even seen a digestive specialist but to no avail. I live in Spain and the product I have found, after trying many, is Evacuol for the constipation which I think you will be able to find the UK equivalent on line. As for the wind I just make myself belch which seems to do the trick. I can go for months with no problem then it suddenly starts again and for a couple of and so the cycle goes on.

Hi 3333, I take Windsettlers and find they are really good for me. They definitely relieve symptoms of wind pains and swollen stomach. I use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea and sometimes I'm so blown its painful. Of course there maybe another reason why you have wind, always seek advice if you not sure; I know what mine is due to. Always worth a try though. Take care x

Hi , My husband had problem with constipation, he had tried all , then he got talking to his brother in Australia, and he said , he was the same, and he said to eat Kiwi fruit every day one or two , if possible with the skin on, and my husband started that, and have never had a problem since then, it worked for him, and ofcause they are full of vitamins anyway, but they work . Have a good day.

Some medications can cause problems, codeine being one, check your information leaflets if you are taking meds, the answer might lie there. Good luck it's such a horrible feeling, my doctor gave me laxido which softens the stools and seems to work well. Windeze or wind settlers which are little capsules work well to clear the wind

I don't have these problems but have an interest in healthy eating and digestion towards keeping to a healthy weight.

I'm not particularly interested in living long but very keen for the next 20-30 years to be trouble free.

I discovered years ago that eating in the way or 'food combining' has eliminated wind almost entirely. IE I dont eat carbs and protein at the same meal.

Recently I went on a nutrition course and learnt about digestion. The suggestion was to have a teaspoon of ground flax seeds daily. I grind them in my coffee grinder but you can buy a bag ready ground from Holland & Barrett, it's amazing, very very good fibre.

I feel so much, sort of cleaner somehow. It doesn't give you the trots and it isn't more medicine in your system. Would you give it a go for a week?

In the past, if I or the family was a bit bunged up we'd have some fruit 1st thing on an empty stomach, a large Jaffa orange is good and as Dane suggests, kiwis.

The condition must be sapping your energy & be very worrying. If it were me I'd be looking at my diet, fluid & fibre intake are vital in good digestion.

All the best to you in finding a solution. ............. Whoops, almost forgot, a very warm welcome to this site :)

Lol on a bit of a role with my freebies this morning. (see bikers tube thread)

How about trying prune juice. If it doesn't help, you can get your money back.

Drink plenty of water and try Ginger Tea I always find wind medicines can make the constipation a lot worse. Eat plenty of vegetables too.

One very powerful laxative is Movicol. I had a very bad constipation once, Movicol moved it. It's either prescribed, ask your doc, or you can buy it over the counter (more expensive).

After that arrange to have in your diet some olive oil, in salads in frying or even one spoonful at night time (the least pleasant).

Nuts contain fat ,especially cashew nuts.

I eat my cornflakes in the morning with two table spoon of raisins, 2 table spoon of cashew nuts and a banana, all in hot milk. That seems to have regulated my guts, I can go to the loo next morning.

You could drink some prune juice, guaranteed to produce its effect

To avoid winds avoid onions! although they are good for health. Also acidophillus introduces good bacteria in your guts and should do away with winds. Over the counter from the chemist.

Hope it helps.
