hi there tobydoo, i had to give up work because of ptsd (its my other half with the lungs) and although at the time it was really tough it has been a really good thing in the long run. a lot of my identity was tied up with work and i have had to kind of discover who i am a bit (sound a bit hippy dippy but you know what i mean!). anyway, hope it settles down for you and is ok in the long run like it was for me.

Work is a sort of social outlet and it's one of the things you can miss when you finish. Plenty of opportunities out there to replace the social chit chat. I've signed up for groups on the U3A organisation, do some volunteering ...in fact anything for a bit of contact outside of the home....some I do without leaving home too. Good luck and enjoy escaping the rat race....no more restricted to 56 mph...boredom.

Hi tobydoo. After a while you start to wonder how you ever had time to go to work. Although I must admit to having the good fortune of an excellent company pension I have done things since being ill, sarcoidosis and pulmonary hypertension, that I would not have been able to do if still at work.

Keep on trucking. 10.4

tobydoo. Have you stopped working, then? For understanding PIP, could you get in touch with the Citizen's Advice Bureau, they would help you filling the form and understanding it too.

Lorry drivers are hugely important, they carry the goods we need. You do an important job, be proud of it.
