Hi there im the Sec of Breathe Easy Swansea Bay, does anybody know how many Breathe Easy groups there are In the Country Last count there where 23.

There are 15 groups in Wales - some of the groups are very small and have a small number of members and don't meet regularly.

In the section above called Read Next there is a post BLF Wales it says there were 23 groups 2 years ago not one year ago. So perhaps not as many groups have closed in the last year as you think. I suppose sometimes groups just close and there's not much that can be done after all if groups rely on people who are ill then as people get more ill the groups are going to close.

There isn't one reason why any groups have closed in Wales - every group is different and the reasons why each group closes vary. More commonly it's because membership numbers drop, and despite attempts to increase members, it isn't possible to get the numbers up. Another reason could be the reluctance of members to help run the group and take responsibility for the finances etc.

No-one ever likes to see a group close but sometimes it just cannot be prevented. In every part of the UK the numbers of groups and where groups are, has changed over the years.

Hi, According to the BLF leaflet " advertising" our local Breathe

Easy meeting - There are more than 230 groups in the UK.

Gibbo I came to a meeting a long time ago. Dyou still meet in the church.

No we now meet in the Hen Dderwen the pub on by the roundabout 2pm to 3pm first Thursday of the month.
