COPD IN THE NEWS

My local television news had an item yesterday about COPD and showed a group of people attending a pulmonary rehab course in Hull, and explained how the right medication could help together with the supervised exercise.

Thanks for that Knitter wish all the rehab teams took Hulls view on treatment of COPD. and maybe some of the GP practices should watch that programme too. As treatment of COPD still seems to be very much a hit and miss affair in many areas even larger cities like I live in.

That's good to hear Knitter. Wouldn't it be great if that clip filtered through to the rest of the country.

Happy New Year to you and yours xx

Went to pulmonary rehab a few years ago and kept it up on a maintenance course until January last year when I became ill. I am on the transplant list with Wythenshawe and they suggested going back to pulmonary re hab so I start a new course in January, although I will have to use oxygen I am sure it can only make me feel better and the advise they give is good. Hi, I'm starting a pulmonary rehab course tomorrow. I've been waiting a while to get on one, apparently they are very popular. I have an assessment tomorrow and then twice weekly meets for 7 wks.

I'm not sure what to expect, and who will be going, so am a little apprehensive.

Hi Bengunn, I have been to the first session, which was to just get to know who was who, do a bleep test and talk to the nurse about which medications we are on, bp and oxygen levels. I go again on Tuesday for first exercise session and a talk about copd.

I seem to be the youngest there by far, so still feel a little odd being there, but everyone is lovely. Hopefully I will feel better as the weeks go on. Thanks very much for asking! :)
