Went to the doctors this morning to tell him what the dietician said yesterday, he weighed me and I have lost about 8lbs in a month he wants to see me again in 4 weeks.
The dietician said I was just in acceptable BMI but doc says he does not agree in his opinion I am below. I have to try to drink a pint of full cream milk a day, have mashed potatoes with milk and butter instead of steaming them, add sugar to my fruit smoothies and try and get some snacks in during the day, try and eat anything fattening.
I badgered him into getting my thyroid checked he wasn't happy but I have been on the same dose since I was 10st 8lb and I am now 8st.
The bonus is he gave me my flu jab so I don't have to go again on Saturday.

Hope they get to the bottom of this for you Polly. 8lbs in a month is a lot. I've lost a lot since GI probs and loss of appetite after IVs 3 months ago. Losing weight doesn't feel as good as you think it would does it when you're not in control of the loss.
I do sympathise as I have lost 3 stone due to loss of taste and smell since I took Doxycycline. I struggle to eat and all investigations so far show nothing. I've just had a brain scan (all clear) and am seeing a neurologist next.
Eating is so hard when you can't taste, don't get hungry and have no appetite.
hi lynne i thought you were doing ok has you go to the gym a few times a week..do you still go has you seemed to be doing ok with this nasty COPD at the start of this year
Apart from the eating, I am doing ok. Lungs are behaving and still exercising albeit not quite as much if I'm really tired. I just need to get my taste buds back.
Polly, I went down to 6 stone before I began to regain weight so I am pleased your doctor is taking it seriously. If it is any consolation, most of us have gone through this and then gained weight again, often too much! I wish you well. x
Hi all I too am terribly under weight, at 6 stone doc does not seem bothered, try to eat more but often have to leave food as get so full it seems to hamper my breathing, get around better on empty stomach, milk seems to encourage more phlem as does chocolate, but now my hips and shoulders are sore in a morning after lying all night, any ideas any one as this is getting me down so much ,nothing fits look like orphan Annie, X
