If you get the top rate of mobility a blue badge is granted by the council on receiot of completed paper work. No mobility benefit you can still get a blue badge after asessment My husband got one recently after we filled the forms in on line he was asked to visit the council offices and he was asked questions relating to the answers given on the form.. He also had to walk a short way in the waiting room with the occupational therapist who conducted the interview..He suffers from chronic arthritis. hope this helps and good luck Joyce

hi we work and don't claim any benefits at all only time she has a issue is when it comes to hills she can walk them but has to take inhaler before then half way then when she gets into town (slight up hill from bottom of town to top less than quarter mile most times if anyone with her they have to go get car and pick her up/)

Wonder if she would benefit from a mobility scooter? Won't do any harm to apply for a blue badge you only pay the few if you get one joyce

Hello my husband suffers with severe Copd and uses inhalers . To be honest he couldn't walk up a hill! There are a few things firstly we applied for a blue badge online had an assessment and got the badge. Has been a godsend.

There are lots of things your partner can do including asking for a referral from the doc for a pulmonary rehab course which will help keep her fitness and teach her about Copd.

Please ring the blf helpline they have a very useful information pack. Please remind her to get a flu jab and pneumonia vaccine. Good luck TAD x

Hi I don't mean to be rude is your partner overweight or have some kind of disability I am just wondering because a non smoker at that age should really be able to get up a hill, there may be a underlying problem somewere

that needs to be checked out.
