Is the BLF doing anything to bring this awful disease into the public eye,.I know it's rare ,but it still kills more than breast cancer does, everybody falls over themselves if you mention the cancer word,no Macmillan nurses for us.
Pulmonary Fibrosis Global awareness d... - Lung Conditions C...
Pulmonary Fibrosis Global awareness day 7th September, how come I see this on the USA site, but not mentioned on the BLF site.
There isn't enough awareness of any of our diseases. In the recent ad campaign they went on about coughing but only mentioned cancer. Why wasn't all the other lung diseases included ?
100per cent agree there
I hope there is something in the media here in the UK Sooki - another of the lesser acknowledged respiratory conditions.
love cx
Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Global awareness day on September 7th is American orientated. Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis World Week September 21st/29th is European orientated.
The Nottingham Respiratory Research Events Committee are supporting both events in conjunction with Breathe Easy Nottingham.
We will be doing a poster and website campaign for IPF Global day.
For IPF World week we are doing a stand at Nottingham City Hospital
HOW IS YOUR LOCAL BREATHE EASY GROUP PROMOTING IPF ?
KOTC
My sentiments exactly. Keith has IPF, goes to a hospice day centre - we had a talk recently at a carers' day about Macmillan CAB - but you have to have a diagnosis of cancer before they will talk to you ! I've supported Macmillan monthly for the last 20 years, had coffee mornings for 15 years, just wish there was support across the board for people with incurable progressive diseases.
