Hi, I'm new to this site so hoping to get involved. I have COPD Bronchiecstasis.

I am on the committee of our local Breathe Easy Group. Reading all the publications from BLF only minimal information is given about the Groups so we need more publicity and lots more members to enable the BLF to carry on with all their good work on the research side as well as funding other projects.

Hi skinnylizzy. I mention on my posts about joining a local Breathe Easy group everyday, it would be nice if other Breathe Easy members did the same. My current Breathe Easy group averages approximately 80 members per meeting.

I am led to believe that it is one of the largest groups in the country. My previous group had a membership of 51 an attendance of up to 40.It is hard work but it can be done. 2 new groups staring in my area hopefully.

Thanks KOTC, we are a very new Group and are being officially launched on 31st October. We have 35 registered members but only about 8 - 10 come to the meetings. We also meet at a local hotel for coffee in between meetings which is very friendly and sociable. Regards.

Friendly and sociable, to me that is what Breathe Easy is all about. All the best to your group for Oct 31st

Welcome skinnylizzy, I,m sure you,l find that many of the nice people here will come along & welcome you & they will tell you that finding a group near to the area where they live is not always easy, nor are all of us able to physically get to a meeting, thats why so many people love this site, they find the support they need & advice from those who can advise

not all of us have the same condition & therefore not all will be able to help if you are having problems

Hi skinnylizzy, I am one of the people who live too far away from the nearest Breath Easy group, but unfortunately could no longer access now, even it if it was closer. That is not to say I am not interested in what they get up to and the King of the Cocktails keeps us well up to date with that! x

Hi Toci, if you are a member of BLF, you will get their magazine and information so you will keep up to date with what is happening anyway. Good luck. xx

Welcome skinnylizzy, this is a very supportive and helpful group. I would like to go to a breatheasy group but do not live near enough to one. Good luck with your venture. :-) Alison

Hi appyalison, thanks for your good wishes. Shame you can't get to a Breathe Easy Group as the social contact is always very supportive, so this site is the next best thing. If you are a member of the BLF you will get their magazine which is always full of useful information . Good Luck. xx

Well done Bliss2. You'll soon make friends and find lots of support from members of the group with a similar condition. Enjoy.
