Weekend woe
Jay, haven't you got an emergency pack of antibiotics?I thought all COPD sufferers were given one by their GPs, like me.They do it so it saves time in treating infections.Good luck with your appointment.Genexxxx
Thanks Ros.x
Gene is spot on - chat to the doctor - there is nothing worse than having to struggle out to go to surgery at the start of an infection. Don't let them fob you off - get that appointment otherwise you may have a completely rotten weekend. We don't want that for you. xx
I have a pack of antibiotics at home all the time. They are only Amoxcillin and I normally need something stronger for the second week, but at least it's a start. Does everyone else need 2 weeks antibiotics, at least ,before they can shift an infection?
Luckily I am fit at the moment and hope to stay that way for a while, especially during the nice weather we have been promised
I used to be in this position until i refused any more Amoxicillin. I told the GP all it did was delay getting an antibiotic that would work. I now keep Doxycycline in.
Ive usually found a weeks not enough.xxx
I'll be following the advice of others about the emergency pack. Hope you get yours & feel better soon Jaynie. Judy x
Thanku Judy..good advice xx
Yes get to the Doctor and get some antibiotics - you will only have a rotten weekend otherwise. My husband does have a rescue pack of abs - but these were not offered we had to ask the doctor for them, but he is also given a rescue pack of steroids to take as well. It is rare that one course of antibiotics does the trick - he usually needs two, three and sometimes four!
Wishing you a very speedy recovery. Take good of yourself. With love TAD xx
Thanku Tad xx
Thanku Judy...yes good advice.xx
Get in early as you can and 'head this thing off before it takes a hold'
Best wishes for an early recovery
Kevin
Thanku Kevin...ive been and got some so onwards and upwards hopefully ! X
I've got a rescue pack think it is an essential with COPD, usually takes two courses to shift an infection. Get to see your GP if possible
