Disability Living Allowance is not paid for any particular ailment that I know of. Its payment depends on the effects of the ailment on the person, so will vary according to circumstances.

As Toci says it will depend on your ability to cope with day to day living rather than just the condition itself. The BLF Helpline can help you more information 03000 030 555 - Monday to Friday.

That sounds as though you are having a right rotten time of it - have you got either family members or a very close friend who could help you sort out the DLA side for you? Best of luck and warm wishes xx

Sorry you have so much to deal with agnes. As well as BLF you could contact Welfare Rights if your council has one. They will come out to see you and advise you if they think you will be entitled and will help with any forms.

Good luck

Cofdrop is right Agnes. Welfare rights came out to my house and filled in all the forms with me. You could also try CAB or Age UK. I don't know whether those last two come out to your home though. Good luck with your claim.

As far as I can remember, DLA is generally given to anyone suffering or having treatment for cancer. This may have changed with the new regulations but needs checking on.

If you have a specialist cancer carer such as Mc Millans, they will know all the ins and outs.
