Wonderful... :-(

Well...despite battling, this horrible disease has got the better of me today and despite using my inhalers etc I'm off to see my (Quite frankly useless) GP....Since first getting my inhalers in February I haven't coughed half as much but today my home sounds like a "Consumption Ward" as my Gran would have said! I also have a banging head with the coughing....marvellous :-(

It feels like someone is standing on my upper chest and shoulder blades, my GP isn't the best, he can be quite dismissive at times :-/

Today is not the day to let him be that person. You need some proper help from them - go get 'im tiger. xx

Hi Antizan Nice to blog you, with the pain you are going through you have to be in his face and tell him you are still coughing to much and want something done now or you will seek a second opinion or change practise, don't give him a chance to be dismissive interrupt him if you have to let him see you are not happy even if it's not your nature, Good Luck Mattcass

I just went out to the shop, 4 doors away and it was if I was drunk!! I am at the GP's at 11.10am, it's not far but I am taxiing it there and back as I am terrified I end up in a heap going down the road :-(

Be strong when you put your case he is paid good money to do more than sit on his backside - it's good outcomes that count and you need one.

All the best,

If you are able give the BLF helpline a ring - they might be able to help you with a dismissive doctor. Good luck and lets hope you get the care you need. Try to be strong as Homebreeze says and tell him you need help. Take care. TAD xx

Do not let your doc fob you off. I did that before, and it didn't do me any favours. Be firm and demand medication to alleviate your symptoms.

They are there for us, if it wasn't for us they wouldn't have a job. We've all told you - don't let him ignore your problems. Let us know how you get on.

Hi Antizan

I am posting this after your doc's apointment. I hope he managed to get you sorted out. If not, I am told that 1 pint of whisky to half a pint of water is an excellent pick me up. Feel better soon.

Nice idea Bobby but I went off alcohol and coffee after I was ill in February! I have vodka, Tia Maria, Jack Daniels and Jim Beam sitting there! BTW I have a chest infection and have a week's worth of antibiotics :-)

I went off coffee and alcohol 3 or 4 years ago after a bad infection. I am still in mourning! Wonder what causes it? Hope you're feeling better soon. Libby

Well at least you got sorted, Antizan. Well done you! :) Yummy antibiotics (not) but hopefully they will kick in quickly and you will feel better. xx

Hi

Don't know if this will help anyone but I was speaking to my COPD nurse on Friday as I too had had a bad attack on Tuesday. It seems heyfever is extemly bad this year, people are suffering who have never had syptoms before. I have started taking some over the counter heyfever and allergy tablets and am breathing a lot better (am taking at night not morning) She also told me to increase my dose of salbutamol over the next week as the air pressure of the stormy weather we are due to have will make me very breathless.
