Sounds like Frozen shoulder. Can you lift your arms above your head?
Can you lay in bed on the painful shoulder?
I went to my GP. Got to the stage where I could not do my jeans up, get
a top over my head.
He gave me an injection in my shoulder, took about 4 weeks to take effect.
But the pain has gone.
This is only in my case, check it out with your GP

Sorry I cannot answer what Injection I had because I was on an experimental diagnosis, where I was sent questions about my progress. But whatever it was, it was brilliant.
Never got round to asking my GP exactly what I was given. But it worked. You GP will have a form if you would like to do the trial.

Ask for the test for 'Frozen Shoulder' and the opportunity to do the trial.
It is open to everyone Lynlee.
It sounds so much like what I went thro'.
But don't, take me on this post. Go and get it sorted.

For a frozen shoulder I had steroid injection. I was told it does not always work but, luckily, it did for me. It took a few days to start working and took a while for full pain relief. I worked the shoulder as much as i could while it healed to loosen it up. Been great ever since (fingers crossed). Alison
i have both shoulders injected then it came back in one I then had the adhesions removed under anasthetics.Unfortunately it is on it's way back but it's bearable at the moment.

Often get severe pain in shoulders, chest, back and top of arms - fully checked out by cardio and heart is in great shape. Drs have finally concluded prob. muscule / skeletal from constant coughing - no suggestions of course to relieve so I have been trying some yoga from years ago when I did it regularly, and other shoulder and neck exercises which help + massage when I can persuade my dearest to do it. This might help you if it is not a frozen shoulder. Or it could be fibromyalgia which is sheer agony and I feel for you what ever it is.
