My wife has had pneumonia twice in six months first left lung then now right lung this time more serious is this unusual she has copd

My husband was given the pneumonia vac so this has not presented as a problem yet. I would agree with Knitter and call the helpline I am sure they could give you advise. Kind wishes TAD x

I agree about getting more advice Hazpet. The BLF helpline number is 03000 030 555. They really are very helpful indeed.

As others say, they normally give people with copd a flu jab and a pneumonia jab.

Yes she has had flue and pneumonia jab

Sorry to hear this about your wife Hazpet, as others have already said.

Also she will need to avoid any contact with anyone who is infected with a cold or virus of any kind and help build her immune system with a good diet, plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, protein etc. If your wife has lost weight or not feeling hungry ask her doctor to prescribe a nutritional food drink like fortisip to include in her daily diet, the helpline can advise on all these things.
