... a beautiful day makes me feel better. Do you think that it should? I have COPD/emphysema and sometimes I feel as though I have been mauled!!!!
Today,however, I got out of bed at about 9 o'clock (lazy me) and had my meds and my usual glass of water. I came out of the shower smelling gorgeous!!!
I did some cross stitch work while my true love was at the dentist in Truro. When he came back about three hours later (!!!!!) we got ready and went out to see friends in Mullion.
The afternoon was gorgeous. Clear blue sky, sun shining and the patio doors open. We watched the blue tits who are nesting in the garden flying in an out of the nest boxes feeding their chicks - beautiful little birds. Tom and Peter went to the garage to do whatever husbands do in garages. We had tea and cake, lots of chat and a (slow) walk around the garden - Beryl had an op to remove some ribs and part of her diaphram about three weeks ago so is still a bit sore.
We chatted about Lockie, Hamish, Angus and Dougal (grandchildren). We sorted out Brtain, discussed immigration and generally sorted the world out.
On the way home, Peter and I drove back past Cury (near Helston) where we lived for about 11 years.
We popped into Sainsburys at Helston and bought a few bits (including a bottle of wine).
It may sound a bit boring to many people but I loved today.
When I'm SOB I feel miserable so why does an English summer day make me feel good? Is it, perhaps, my mind that makes my COPD seem worse than it is?
Mind over matter do you think.
I hope all my friends on this forum had as good a day as I had.

It doesn't sound boring at all to me, Annec - a day spent with hubby and friends, sorting the world out is a great day. Wine at the end of it, perfect, well nearly, where's the chocolate in all this?
The mind can certainly be a wonderful thing if you can get the attitude switch right ....... sometimes it works and sometimes it develops a little glich. Today was a good day for you and also for me - so clink the glass and cheers to that

It made me feel really good for you. We have our down Times and then the lovely weather comes comes to cheer us up. Husband Brian has been low today chemo side effects but I know they will pass. Thanks for a great blog, love from annieseed. Xxx
I'm so sorry that Brian is having bad side effects from the chemo. It will be worth it, in the end, when he has the 'all clear'. I know that he is going to be OK. You will be too dear lady.
Sometimes, I feel so guilty because I know that there are people going through absolute hell while I am enjoying myself.
My boy, David, had been given the push by his partner, Laura. I had an idea that this would happen because David was sometimes so mean to Laura (I know that it was because of the effects of the chemotherapy and I really don't feel any animosity towards Laura - she is a lovely girl and I do wish her well. I think she went through hell as well as David.
I am trying at the moment to keep David positive - he has survived his cancer and is due to have an op in a few weeks to repair his bowel. It is very difficult trying to make him get back on track - the finish of a relationship is very painful.
Brian is on the way to a clean bill of health where the cancer is concerned. Please know that I, together with everyone else on this website, am wishing you and Brian well.
I hope that you have happy days very, very, soon.

How grand to hear you had such a great day! Nothing boring about that.Long may they continue.
Sorry about your sons break up,but what an understanding lady you are!Its so ice to hear you saying good things about the lass,as sometimes people get so funny about that sort of thing.My eldest sons first marriage,fell apart, and they have been divorced a few years, but I still maintain contact with Claire, and she visits me,as she says they divorced, but not the family!!
Everything is looking on the up for you,so enjoy the sunshine,so glad health wise, your boy,is doing fine,
Laura was absolutely wonderful to my son while he was going through his particular bit of hell - unfortunately he was not quite so wonderful to her. He's feeling a bit raw at the moment I expect but, hopefully, he'll get over it soon.
David was married years ago to Emma - Emma went of with someone else and he was absolutely devastated. Emma now lives in New Zealand with her husband, John, and their daughter, Letitia. Believe it or not, David and Emma correspond and have a good relationship now.
I love the Lizard too. Spent many holidays around those arts. About three years ago we rented a cottage in Zennor. That was nice with a good pub around the corner.

No of course not, after all we've got traffic, noise, pollution, more traffic the re-occurring sound of blues n twos taking somebody in or putting somebody out, the sound of birds coughing in the morning.
London is a wonderful city. I worked in London for about six months in the late 1960s - theatres, fabulous restaurants, a diversity of races, English Heritage sites and goodness knows how many other wonderful things.
London is a great place.

Ann and I live near Kingston close by the same river we lived on for 25 years.
Bushey Park, Hampton Court's royal park is close by and we wouldn't change it or the world. I'm looking forward to being able to get downstairs and out there amongst it again soon.

It is lovely to live down here but there are so many beautiful places in Britain.
I sometimes want to go back home (North Queensferry which is over the river from Edinburgh) to live. I have fallen in love with Cumbria, London (had an Aunt in Kensington), the Lake District, Norfolk etc etc.
My husband thinks I should have been born into the Royal Family - I would then have been able to have houses everywhere. lol
Yet again pepsicoley you mention all the `places I know well. I was born in the house (called The Elm) a few doors away from the public house 'The Wheel Inn' at Cury Cross Lanes. Mum and I lived in Helston for many years and I went to school there for a few years. And being Cornish I have to say when the sun shines Cornwall is the best place to be in the world (and I have seen a lot of the world). Enjoy - pleased you had a lovely day xx
We came back from Mullion yesterday on the main road. The Wheel Inn is being completely renovated at the moment.
The first house we bought was in Cury Churchtown (the house was just behind the Church). That was at Christmas 1975 and the then Landlady at The Wheel Inn was, by all accounts a bit of a tartar (or should that be tarter).
