Yes, mine came today and it still has that awful smell :(

I stopped getting it, found if I left the magazine outside for a few hours after opening it helps but of course in the winter months that is not always possible.

The smell is mentioned in the magazine - looks like they haven't solved the problem though !

It smells just like print to me I would think to cut costs the printers have reduced the quality of the inks used. If you have any dryer sheets slip one into the polythene bag and leave for a while before opening fully or put you magazine somewhere with a couple of them you will soon mask the smell.

My husband used to work with the printing industry both here and in the middle east as he was in advertising. basically it is the ink. Combined with the glossy type paper that is used. I noticed it was not so bad this time though it is still not good for people with severe lung conditions. Best wishes Julie xx x

Haven't opened mine yet, leaving it until I can read it outside! Keep smiling.

Hi everyone,

Sorry to hear that there is still a problem with Breathing Space and this chemical smell. We left the magazines out to air for a couple of days before sending them out to members, but unfortunately this doesn't seem to have worked as well as we had hoped.

We will be speaking to our printers again before the next issue to look at other options for reducing the smell, and will of course keep you all posted.

In the meantime, do leave the magazine out to air for a bit before reading if you can, as this may help. And we hope you enjoy the summer issue!

Best wishes,

Rachel Hunter (Breathing Space editor)
