In October 2012 I lost my dad after he lost his battle with COPD which was brought on my years of chain smoking. He was suffering most of his life but it got bad in the last 5 years in which I was his main carer. The end for my dad was peaceful, he died in his sleep with his sister by his side, he would not of been in any pain at all. I still miss my dad very much and I always will but one thing that puts my mind at rest is he is no longer suffering or in any pain and I know that one day I will see him again!

I know how you feel. I lost my dad in feb 2012 he had copd for 29 years and was so brave always happy and a smile on his face, I miss him so very much and although I think the pain of losing him will never end, I know now his suffering is over and that I will see him again. Sometimes even now it is hard for me to believe he has gone.he was a great support when I too was diagnosed with copd and to others, You will get there, thinking of you, God bless and best wishes Julie xxxxx
Very sad Julie and as you said, he died peacefully surrounded by his family which, if we have a choice, sounds the best way.
What age was he out of interest?

I know how you feel - I lost my lovely Dad last September xxx
Jim my dad was 79 when he died. He was diagnosed with COPD when he was 50, although he was originally told it was asthma so he did not get the right meds at the start but he did very well making sure he got the best out of life His motto was 'Do it while you still can' as he knew the illness would catch up with him. What age was your dad kmalucas ?when he passed.
My dad was only 55 when he passed
