Yes unfortunately it does.
Unfortunately, stress can use up a lot of energy, increase your blood pressure, lower your reserves and if you are compromised make problems worse.
I suggest you manage your stress as best as you can.

I am afraid it does,,the more relaxed you are the better you feel,,give the helpline a buzz they can give advice on keeping your stress levels down ,,
YES YES - my husband is bloody awful if he is stressed. Before he was diagnosed with COPD I always knew when he was stressed - he started to cough. It was obviously a sign of COPD!! And now unfortunately even the stress of eg. visiting the docs can make his COPD much worse. My advise learn how to manage the stress - if you are a person who could get very stressed out learn how to limit it. My sister bought a book by Paul McKenna which came with a CD about limiting stress and she found that amazing. Have a lovely day. TAD xx
Oh yes it does indeed - I lost 10% lung function following the worst stress situations I had ever had over a period of eighteen months. So now, it is peace, calm, tranquility and laughing
I'm sure it does, 5 weeks ago went through a really stressful week or two, had to use my pumps more, was convinced I had a chest infection ( I hadn't ) and just felt terrible, it's only the last 10 days or so that I have began to feel a bit normal again, only used pump once today, stress management to answer I guess, but sometimes life deals blows that are just so hard to manage x x x x
Stress seems to produce an invisible tight belt that wraps its self around my rib cage and tightens itself in. Within minutes of hearing bad news I am left gasping for breath. Sadly, I have not yet found the solution to this problem. Any advice would be welcome. x
Meditation is a great way to help reduce stress and improve well being.
There is lots of information on the internet and there are many mediation videos on you tube. There may be local classes if you can get out.
Worth a try
I find if I'm stressed I cough more so yes I think it does.
On one of the PR sessions I had recently,we had a talk on coping with stress, listening to calming music and going somewhere quiet to relax and listen with eyes closed,it works for me, my calming music is anything by Enya, lovely, very calming.

I find that stress definitely aggravates the health issues I have.
NB I haven't got COPD - my diagnoses are asthma, allergies, hypothyroidism, hypertension and various vitamin and mineral deficiencies ( medicated for everything except hypertension).
