since we bought a house 10 minutes from the sea in the Costa Blanca my asthma has been worse. Thinking of moving. I know it depends on many things but where could you live where the humidity etc. would be less? Thanks

where to live?
Sorry to hear that your move has not helped you health problems. I have a couple of friends who lived on the Costa Blanca and they developed breathing difficulties and found the high temperatures during the summer were too much and moved back to the UK. Brian
Good question, which I have thought about.
The Scottish Highlands in May and the Scilly Isles in July have been good for me.
Finding a place that is good all year round I think would be difficult.
I think, for me, it would need to be in the countryside, UK in the summer and maybe Spain in the winter for me.
I have lived in many climates and many countries. My priority would be to find a place with as little pollution as possible (diesel, dust, fires etc) and being relatively close to good healthcare (a research hospital etc). Specific allergens can be dealt with biologics, steroids and allergy shots, and one can control the environment at home (humidity, air purification, temperature etc). One can also change over time. I used to feel great in Death Valley compared to the California coast: I would literally feel worse within minutes after crossing the Sierra Nevada mountain range going West. But now I would not be able to handle the dry air.
Many folks here mention high temperatures and humidity being a trigger, but in my mind it's the often the pollen and the pollution (O3) that come with the summer, not the hot temperature per se.
Not the fens in Cambridgeshire or anywhere with a lot of arable farming, because the humidity in the fens is awful.
Arable farming means a lot of dust and fungal spores in the air in the summer from around now for six weeks due to harvesting. A colleague who moved from outside the area had to go to the doctor to get prescribed hayfever tablets and I was the same. Colleague's doctor said it's common for people moving to the area around Cambridge. We're going on holiday to Shropshire near the Welsh hills soon and I am looking forward to not having to sleep propped up like I have this week.
