Been to the hospital today and a quick feno test showed my feno was 14.... which I'm told is classed as normal

Hope u feel Airways r less inflamed - feno is a measure of that x

Yes, FeNo is exhaled nitric oxide that apparently directly correlates to inflammation in the airways

It's a shame it's taken antibiotics to get it that way but yes.... things do feel better

But time will tell and it won't be long as I'm due a chest infection (every 2-3 months if I'm lucky) .. so the hope is it will reduce them too.

Yes, its a shame its taken 7 years of me being a royal pain in the ass... my Mrs said that I was "the driving force in pushing for a diagnosis and treatment" (I think she was being polite)

We really do have to be. It also relies on dr/nurse actually " hearing" what we say.ive suffered the irreparable consequences of not being " heard" - judged by appearance, walking in to appointments, being calm, rational at appointments - thinking what I say is " heard"-it wasn't! So I understand why you've fought to b heard x

And I think that's part of the issue... a lot of doctors and nurses take what they see as opposed to what they hear and see.... which in my case has led to many incorrect theories, delays in correct diagnosis.... it doesn't help that airway collapse is a rare and hard to diagnose issue I suppose.

But when I've walked into doctors complaining of breathing issues they have quite literally told me I have everything from heart failure to anxiety as the explanation for it.... i don't think any of them where being intentionally unhelpful, they just didn't really know what the issue was because I also don't fit the norms (no wheeze, ok oxygen, making full sentences etc etc) ... but I've had 96% saturation with a pretty nasty chest infection and half a lung not filling with air (the only time I've ever seen a doctor look concerned )

I've a lot going on -severe EDAC collapse on normal breathing + severe TBM too, paralysed diaphragm and collapsed lower lobe - all post covid, struggled for 3yrs before anyone listened..on top of many other lung diseases.so I know how u feel.As emails r legal× binding docs,I sent an email detailing difficulties, deterioration, naming who I'd seen + unfilled promises made - forwarded to everyone in senior positions in respiratory depth.it did the trick so worth considering.x
