Air Purifier.

Hello Everyone,

A few weeks ago I asked a question regarding air purifiers, and whether people found them helpful or not. I've now had one for a week, and thought I'd give you an update.

First to arrive was the particle counter, and to my surprise, the particles in my house, in various rooms, were very low. However, it's not just the quantity of particles, but also their character, and whether you have a reaction to them.

Then the air purifier arrived. I set it up in the bedroom. Its on very low all day, and I give it a blast for about half an hour before bed, then on low again all night. It is very quiet; when it's not on blast mode.

I have noticed a distinct improvement in my sleeping, I no longer wake up coughing in the night, and my chest is better (but not perfect) in the day.

So in conclusion, it has had a tangible effect on my breathing, and its drug free, so I'm counting this as a success.

If anyone is interested, its the Philips 2000i

Brilliant, I also keep one going downstairs.

The biggest effect has been in my sons bedroom, where I have given it a few long runs. The heavy atmosphere has now left the room.

glad that the air purifier has helped. I also have one in the bedroom, one in the lounge and a big Dyson in the hall. They all help.

I also have the same air purifier in the lounge and it really helps my breathing. I recommended it to a friend who is also getting great benefit from it. I also have a smaller one in the bedroom. Not everything works for everyone of course. I was a little sceptical when I initially bought it as they are not cheap but it has exceeded my expectations. So glad to hear if other people getting the benefits too as we all need all the help we can get!

Glad it's helped but just looked it up - £300! For that I'd want it to make dinner too! Sounds my little farty one isn't expensive enough and tbh I haven't noticed much difference and now it's warmer I can open windows and get the real thing for free.🤗

I am pleased to hear the air purifier has helped your asthma, however it is important to know that as we all know not everyone will respond the same - Allergy UK have some great information on this 🥰

My asthma is triggered in part by dust so air purifiers for me made a huge improvement. I was dubious at first but they have worked so well i now have four altogeher, two at home and two in work. If I'm in a room in work that hasn't got an airpurifier I notice within 10-15 minutes as the throat clearing and coughing starts!

In the UK a company beginning with the letter S (think jaws), hope this is OK to post, has got an air purifier reduced to £79.99 (a reduction of £200)! I have ordered one. I looked online after seeing the offer on a morning program on TV.

I react to dust especially when home improvements are being done. So I already know that they help me.

If anyone wants to try an air purifier and is struggling to cope with the cost, it might be worth looking on places like Ebay and Gumtree - we've been able to get two dehumidifiers (one of which also has a purifier setting) for around £50 each second-hand.

Nice one ! Thanks for the info, I think I'll give it a try as my bedroom will,by default, be the worst room in the house for dust. Cheers
