Dupilumab and e-Asthma Part Two

Well beautiful people, this is an update on my journey with Dupilumab.

Second visit this morning to the hospital for my third dose. They gave me two doses on my first visit which is the initial loading dose. I injected myself this morning as it comes in a pre-filled pen and had to wait just Β½ hour this time. No reaction again so all good.

I have a further visit in two weeks however on this visit they will carry out blood and breathing tests including FeNO. I will then be able to self-administer at home. I did the same thing when I was on Mepolizumab although the new regime will involve fortnightly injections.

I have started to see an improvement in my breathing already and have managed to walk up four flights of stairs (only 6 steps on each though) without stopping every few steps. This happened for the first-time last Thursday, and this was 10 days after my first loaded dose. I was gasping a little when I got to the top but nothing like I have been. I have been lightheaded, dizzy and have fallen over after one flight before this so huge progress for me. I am smiling as I type this πŸ˜€.

Don't get me wrong I am still being careful and have not decided to run a marathon πŸ˜† but feel so much better. I have the same side effects as had with Mepolizumab - headache, nausea and itching but this may be because I had such a high dose first time. Forever the optimist as you can see.

Well lovelies, off to a meeting but will post another update in two weeks. Please feel free to reach out to me in-between. Love and light πŸ™

Hi, Im glad its having a positive effect for you. I have been on it for nearly 2 years and I can honestly say its changed my life. After 20 years of hospital admissions I have finally found a medication that works. I have been on mepo and benzra in the past both of which had terrible side effects. I hope your treatment is as successful as mine. Good luck!
