Hi everyone
I haven't worked for a few years due to my asthma, I was actually forced out of my last job due to taking time for asthma but that's another story...!
I am thinking of going back into work as there seems to be a lot more working from home jobs than a few years ago due to Covid and I think I could maybe manage something part-time initially to see how it went. I'm claiming Universal Credit LCWRA (what used to be the old ESA Support group) - you could work upto 16 hours a week I believe on the old ESA and it didn't affect your benefit - but since UC is a taper I'm unsure if I'd be allowed to do any work without losing the sickness part of UC or if I'd need another assessment.
To be honest I don't want to approach the DWP unless I really have to as I had a horrendous time before I had the work capability assessment, they were trying to send me for jobs in warehouses where I'd be on my feet for 12 hours a day - not something someone with severe asthma can do! So I'd rather hear from anyone who has gone back to work but is still able to keep at least some of their UC as a sickness benefit, is this possible?
