Hi, I started doing the Buteyko breathing method a couple of weeks ago and wondered if anyone else had tried it. My control pause is stuck at 5/6. I've signed on with a Buteyko practitioner. I keep going through a detox which worsens my asthma symptoms. I know it's the detox as if I reduce the exercises my symptoms return to their usual annoying level.

Buteyko breathing method
I practice Buteyko and find it very helpful. Working with a coach is good. There is a lot to understand with it.
I have been practicing Buteyko since the start of this year, starting with Buteyko practitioner led sessions. The sessions were super helpful to understand the technique, strategies and aspects such as anxiety etc that can drive some of the symptoms. Early days but I have managed through a couple of infections without using medical intervention, which wasnt the case before. Continue practicing and should help build on managing your asthma.
That is amazing that you got through the infections without medical intervention. It is a slow process but I think once you understand about overbreathing that there's no going back. My GP practice staff either hadn't heard of it or were against it apart from one practice nurse, who was supportive. I agree about the anxiety too. My practitioner has said that my anxiety is negating the work doing reduced breathing, which is why she has me focusing on relaxing.
