Prednisolone

Due to the exacerbation of asthma, I am on steroids again. It is the seventh day and the lost one. Is it normal to also get wheezing while taking steroid pills? I was really scared . I don't know what to think anymore? Thanks in advance for all answers..

Wheezing shouldn't be part of being on steroids. The wheezing would be part of your asthma. A short course of steroids would be the usual treatment. Can you give me more information on your flare?

I had infections a week ago. The doctor prescribed me an antibiotic and prednisolone. For the past three weeks, I haven't needed a ventolin. Everything was fine. It worried me that today I got bronchial swise. I took two puffs of ventolin and the whistles are gone. Maybe I just entered the house from the manor? Temperature change? Or maybe the weather? . I thought steroid pills should protect me from such attacks? I do not know myself.....

It isn’t uncommon to require more than one course of steroids and antibiotics. If you are still wheezing you should contact your gp again to advise them you are still unwell.

Go back to your GP.Everybody is different - for me to have a normal life - like before I became asthmstic - I would need 50 mg of pred most days. Even after taking a course of steriods I still rattle a bit.
