Cough varient asthma
All types of asthma can and do involve coughing. But not all coughing is caused by asthma - even for people who have asthma.
Colds and other viruses cause coughing anyway.
Some people with asthma find their asthma gets worse with a cold.
You probably need to talk to your nurse or doctor but you need to have a covid test (PCR) first because they will probably tell you to do that.
Cough variant asthma would be diagnosed by a specialist and your post doesn't indicate if you have a diagnosis of CVA. As Twinkly has said, all asthmatics cough but but that alone doesn't make it CVA or asthma.
If you have asthma but have a new symptom of a cough then definitely get a covid test to rule out C-19 & then you can get an appointment with your GP in order to get treatment for your cough, especially if it's making your asthma flare.
I have cough variant asthma and have fairly set times of the year when my asthma is much worse. If however I find I’m coughing more, as well as some ventolin , I also do a LFT just to make sure it’s not Covid. Having a cold doesn’t always make my asthma worse but a , blasted scented Christmas candles, always does!
