So i am on symbicort morning and evening snd i can use in the day if needed and also spirivia which the specialist recommended after my CT scan, luckily no smoke damage to my lungs etc but i am now nearly 3 weeks cigarette free
He did say the bottom of my lungs dont inflate fully due to my weight so i need to work on that. Also i have been refered to the nose specialist as my nose is always blocked and this bit is a bit disgusting but the boggys i get are like the size of a small coin.
Anyway so i am a bit chesty with a cough and lots of mucus feels stuck, can stuck mucus make u feel breathless etc?
I do have a course of antibiotics and steroids at home so i can start those if i need to.
Thanks

I think that can be common after stopping smoking as the body adjusts? Well done though for 3 weeks without smoking! But it could be that rather than needing steroids or antibiotics.
I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling well but massive congratulations for being 3 weeks smoke free! 🥳
Mucus can definitely make you feel breathless - mucus is sticky and can be hard to cough up which can lead to feeling breathless, plus it can clog your airways a bit. I’ve heard that an increase in mucus is common after stopping smoking - almost like your body is getting rid of the gunk (for lack of a better word) from cigarettes. Though if you are feeling significantly breathless and your reliever isn’t relieving your symptoms for as long as usual (4 fours for salbutamol but not sure what it is for symbicort) then definitely consider starting the course of steroids!
