The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation has today recommended an age-based approach for the next wave of COVID vaccinations. We think this is completely unacceptable and have shared our statement below with all media, which has so far been picked up in the Daily Mirror and The Guardian amongst others. This follows on from a campaigning article in The i Paper yesterday where we emphasised the importance of people with asthma being prioritised for the next wave of COVID-19 vaccinations as some research shows that people with asthma could be at risk of long-term side effects or needing hospital treatment if they get coronavirus.

Our petition on this topic has already had more than 22,000 signatures. We will continue to lobby the government on this. It must reconsider its decision. Please sign up to support our campaign and spread the word. The more voices we have supporting the campaign, the greater the chance we have in getting the government to reconsider this decision: Help us make your voices heard (asthma.org.uk)
