Fertility Question:

Hi all following SophieHG's post, I wanted to ask the following question:

Has anyone experienced trouble getting pregnant and how you would go about getting fertility tests done for both you and your partner?

We've been trying to get pregnant for over 2 and a half years. My husband is epileptic and one of the drugs he has to take can affect his sperm count.

I don't know where to start with getting help.

Hope everyone is okay despite the Lockdown.

I’m not sure of an answer but I think there are a couple of groups on health unlocked about fertility. They might be able to help you more?

Agree with madonbrew. You may find more help on a fertility forum

Probably also worth speaking with your GP if you haven’t already :)

My son and his wife attended a fertility clinic and had tests done. They went private in order to be seen more quickly and then had the same consultant on NHS. They went to the hospital at Manchester. I don’t know where you live. Google fertility clinics and ask your G P to refer you. They were both tested. I know my daughter in law was put on some meds. Hope you can get sorted. Take care. Anita x

Weirdly on this forum and fertility one. Call your GP first. They are still seeing people. Explain how long you are trying you might have to say this to receptionist briefly. I reckon you'll have a phone chat first then you will go in for blood test then your partner will have semen analysis and bloods. We just went through this stage now going for further appointment next week. That part took a few months because of various things like it takes awhile to get through to GP. I delayed talking to them for awhile too. Anyway good luck. Let me know if you have other questions! I just joined Fertilty Network. It's looks like it's more for the next stage (eeek) so haven't posted yet. I would just focus on getting those tests done.
