Try to elevate your head whilst sleeping and ventilate your lungs from air.
(Try breathing out as much and long as you can and take a breath again to see if that helps). This normally helps me.
Sounds very simple but I find when my asthma is bad and it’s difficult to breathe out and I do this for some time, it gets more difficult to breathe in eventually.
Also, asthma at night time may be a sign that your asthma isn’t well managed or having some allergy or other issues.
You best speaking to your asthma nurse or your respiratory specialist. Hope you feel better soon!
Yes this is normally a sign my asthma has worsened and I need to see someone to increase my medication. Breathing techniques (through nose and not using chest) really helps loads - have a look on the asthma UK site for breathing techniques.
