Hi. I was wondering if anyone has tried using Halotherapy (dry salt therapy) for their asthma?

Some people will have tried salt therapy and found it helpful.....but I know of others where it's a massive trigger for their asthma.

Like many things with asthma, some people find them to be brilliant which is great but they're the opposite for others. Steam is a classic one too - another marmite solution! Obviously not to say that those who find it good shouldn't do it because of course it's great for them, just that anyone reading should approach with an air of caution if trying something new.

I haven’t been to a salt cave but I sometimes use a salt pipe to help my asthma. I find it’s quite good at breaking up mucus but not really a replacement for inhalers.

I’m pretty sure I just got it off amazon. I’ve had it a long time. It’s called a salitair salt pipe and you just fill it with rock salt and breathe through the pipe for a few minutes.

Never heard of it but always open to suggestions I will research into this. What I did used to do though in winter in front of radiators place a bowl of warm water stops air getting too dry. Paediatric respiratory nurse told me that trick when daughter was little. 🙂

I've been using Halotherapy for 2 years now and it has really helped me. Its definitely worth a try if you haven't as it's 100% drug free (which is great). I've even managed to avoid my annual winter chest infection the past 2 years.
