Fabric Softener

Hi all,

Can any of you recommend a fabric softener that is non-bio and allergy friendly please? I get a terrible rash from anything like Lenor and Comfort.

Thanks in advance.

I use Bio D. There's a whole range of household products that are natural and unscented if you want unscented.

I’ll look into these now. Thank you 😁 I’d prefer something that smells nice but I’ll be grateful to have soft linen for now

I use Surcare, both the washing powder and the fabric conditioner. Non-bio and perfume-free, which is important to me.

Hi I have a friend who can only use persil washing powder/ tablets but seems ok with some fabric softener her issue is like you that's why when she comes over to mine I always tell her to bring her own stuff just incase I can't get any before she comes but I have asked her meny times about softener and the best advice she has given is unfortunately you have to shop around as what is great for one isn't good for you but she did say if thay do a baby version like persil and fairy do just look for there bio or colour version to try if that's what you want to try.

I use Ecover Zero. Non bio and no smell. I find the perfumed ones make my breathing worse. Good luck with your hunt.

Hi, the best I have found is the Neutral range, it’s Danish I order it through Ocado.

It has no perfume which I find necessary.

And has a whites and coloured wash option which other ranges don’t seem to offer

However you could always add a few drops of Pure Castile from Dr Bronner’s range. It is multi purpose product with a whole range of uses with other products.

They are naturally scented

Good luck

Watch out for Parabens, they are put into a lot liquids, even toothpastes/shower gels. They are nasty and could be the problem....

Personally I've given up fabric conditioner (which is just a chemical that is not rinsed away) and just use a good scent free laundry liquid; after a while I didn't notice the difference. These days all scents are artificial chemical cocktails designed to confuse the brain so it is no surprise that they irritate the lungs.

Me, too, that is I have never used them (bought one bottle once, I think) . Not sure why we are supposed to need them.

Hi, I use Method laundry detergent and it doesn't need a fabric conditioner. It has a light, fresh fragrance but isn't as strong as Lenor or Comfort. John Lewis used to sell it but I can only get it now through Amazon. It's pricier than normal laundry liquid but you don't need as much so it lasts for ages, and you don't need fabric conditioner. It comes in a pump bottle, and you can get refill pouches which can be recycled. Good luck!

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I’m going to order them all and try them out one by one :)
