The past few days or so I've been suffering from wheezing which is slowly getting worse & a cough, right now breathing is kinda difficult & I've already had to use my blue rescue inhaler once & it ain't exactly helped & it's nearby if it gets worse
The thing is, I'm worried to seek help as not that long ago, I suffered terrible tiredness & aches for a wk & all these are signs of corona, but my temperature is fine, just slightly below normal
If you’re wheezing, coughing and SoB you need to seek help. If it is asthma you may need steroids to calm it down. If it helps whenever I’ve contacted for support/more drugs my docs/team have done a quick scan for corona and then double checked it felt like my ‘normal asthma issues’.
If you have a asthma plan follow that, if not contact your GP for support (i form receptionist you think you’re having an asthma flare and would like a phone/online consult whatever your surgery offers). If you feel like you can’t breathe well enough to eat/sleep/walk/talk normally and your blue pump isn’t helping (up to 10 puffs) then you need to go to hospital.
You may also want to talk to the AUK team and discuss what’s going on to get some more specific advice for you.
Just read your post, I was feeling the same sob, temp, difficulty with moving about, rang surgery and spoke to receptionist who arranged for doctor to ring me back, only had to wait 45 mins and got sorted. I do have an asthma plan, so my Prednisolone was increased. Hope you have been sorted out by now, best wishes.
Definitely talk to your GP as you need help to address this flare up. Please don't leave things for fear that you may have Covid-19.
And if your GP does decide to send you to hospital, you'll find everything is set up to keep you safe. My sibling had to be admitted and was tested for Covid-19. Came back positive. But before that was known they were isolated and treated with oxygen and antibiotics. Came home on the fourth day. All is fine.
Thanks all, I'm currently waiting for a call back from my doctors & my blue inhaler is hardly helping @ all. Had a fall after tea, so my husband has wisely sent me to bed where I'm safe & only allowed upto the bathroom with his support
Things ain't much better today despite having windows & the back door open to see if that would help
The doctors didn't end up calling me back, so my husband rung them today & we got directed to a local Urgent Care team who briefly saw me & said that it's some kind of virus, but not corona
I've gotta see my asthma team @ my surgery again & if things get worse over the wkend we're to ring 111, to use my brown inhaler twice in the am & night & blue inhaler once every couple of hrs, both with a spacer, which I've gotta find
Over here with most viruses they don't tend to get anything, they'd rather let it go away naturally however long it takes. My temperature is down today to 35.1, overdid it & will no doubt suffer for it tomorrow
Yes my husband will be on the case if I get really bad rest of today, overnight & tomorrow, he maybe sleeping on the sofa, but he's still listening out for me & will check on me if he hears alot of coughing
Just to give you all an update, things got really bad on Tues & whilst we were round a friends to pay respects as there was a death in the family, I became very unwell & had a really bad seizure which caused me to stop breathing
From what I've been told, my friend had to give me CPR whilst my husband checked my pulse & breathing until the ambulance crew arrived
I was taken to A&E given the corona test plus ploads of others & they all came back clear, so that's what the A&E doctor said happened
