So basically every so often (every couple of weeks) I become short of breath, like I can’t get enough air in my lungs. I do have issues with anxiety so sometimes I feel like it may be triggered by that.
I take my blue inhaler and after about ten minutes I bring up lots of phlegm, and I’m bringing it up for about twenty minutes until its all gone. After this, I can breathe fine so my blue inhaler is obviously working.
I have no problems with my asthma in everyday life and its well controlled. The only time it gets bad is when I’m ill. I was just wondering why this may happen. I take the brown inhaler (100mg) twice morning and night. Am I just an asthmatic that produces lots of phlegm.

Perhaps you need a change of preventer? I had a similar thing two summers ago. The getting out of breath was worrying, but like you say, once I had had a good cough I was ok until the next time. I thought it was hayfever, so I changed my antihistamine and also took a decongestant, which helped a bit. It settled after about a week.
When I mentioned it to my GP ( six months later!) he said it sounded like it had been an asthma cough.
Sounds like phlegm is causing the breathing problem. It's not ideal to let the problem to persist as it could become a bacterial infection if left untreated.
We are experiencing very high pollen levels so hayfever maybe the root cause, especially if you haven't had a temperature.
Iam suffering with shortness of breath iam now on montelukast 10 ml a day been on them 2 weeks helps a bit I take blue in inhaler when needed and brown inhaler twice a day also have a green one I take twice a day keep well and safe
