I am on fostair nexthaler 100/6 since Feb on the smart regimen one puff twice a day. Have not used it as a reliever yet but instructions can be used up to 8 puffs a day. Mild asthma well controlled at the moment. Have not got an asthma plan. During an asthma attack when do I get help as it is difficult to contact 111. I live in a shared accommodation everyone keeps to themselves. Thanks

Asthma attack
You should have been given an asthma plan alongside your new inhaler as a rescue/emergency asthma plan on a MART regime looks very different than a standard blue (salbutamol) inhaler. You should call your Dr/asthma nurse (preferably the asthma nurse as they usually know more) as soon as possible. You should also have a step-up guidance for if you begin to experience early warning symptoms. Even 'mild' asthma can be serious if not well-managed. I am on a MART regime but what is recommended to me may not be the same as what will be recommended to you. Please call your surgery. In an asthma attack, 111 are not really who you should be calling. You would use your action plan and if that doesn't work call 999 as it will be an emergency.
Thank you I will call the respiratory clinician and ask. He only comes to the surgery once a week. I had my asthma review last June and he changed my treatment from becotide twice a day and ventolin as required to fostair. I only use inhalers in winter but only started the new regimen in Feb. He is a respiratory clinician and am surprised he did give an asthma action plan.
